A sergeant who has been accused of fixing tickets for county employees retired from the San Diego Police Department after more than 26 years of service, according to Lt. Andra Brown.
The Attorney General's Office filed misdemeanor charges in late January against Friedman and Deputy District Attorney Allison Worden, who also goes by Debow. She is on paid administrative leave from the office, according to public affairs officer Tanya Sierra.
This isn’t the first ticket-fixing scandal involving the San Diego Police Department. The chief and assistant chief were reprimanded 25 years ago for being part of a widespread practice of fixing hundreds of tickets for colleagues, friends, relatives, influential civic figures and members of the news media.
