Just after 4:30 p.m. the San Diego Police and Fire Department responded to a vehicle rescue on N. Torrey Pines Road, after a two-vehicle crash ended with two cars in the Los Peñasquitos Lagoon.
One person was trapped inside one of the vehicles in the water was transported to the hospital after being rescued by firefighters. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

The northbound lanes were closed while debris was cleaned from the lagoon, according to authorities.
