Hash Oil Lab Found in Home After Standoff Suspect's Arrest

Neighbors were on edge for hours Thursday as SWAT agents tried to coax a barricaded man out of his Spring Valley home, but his eventual arrest led way to the discovery of more danger that kept the community awake past midnight.

The incident began at around 1:30 p.m. at the Sweetwater Lodge Mobile Home Park on Jamacha Boulevard.

Fugitive Task Force agents tried to take the suspect, who was wanted on a felony warrant, into custody before he barricaded themselves in a home. Then SWAT was called in.

Law enforcement ahd the home surrounded for five hours. They tried to talk the man out of his home, and even threw flashbangs through the windows. 

The man eventually surrendered just after 6:30 p.m., but when investigators went inside they found a hash oil lab.

Hash oil is a potent marijuana extract made through a dangerous process invovling butane, which is highly flammable.

Several jars of oild and extraction equipment was taken out of the home. Agents were still at the scene as late as 11 p.m.
