Tiny Patients at Scripps Hospitals Given Plush Easter Bunnies

On Friday, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department (SDSO) donated 50 plush Easter bunnies to Scripps hospitals throughout the county. The toys were handed out to the tiniest patients on maternal child health units at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista, Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

Staffers, including Lilly Cooper (middle), gave the stuffed bunnies to little ones throughout the morning – just in time for Easter. At Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, the bunnies were a nice touch during a very special time for families. Cooper said the faces of some little ones “lit up” when they saw the colorful toys.

Shah’s toddler, Cyrus, was especially thrilled to get his very own Easter bunny. Shah said that as her son deals with accepting his new baby sister, getting the toy at the hospital made him very happy.
