The San Diego Unified School District is proposing to cut $122 million more out of the school budget for next year tonight at a board meeting.
They’re calling it a “worst case scenario” budget, which is on top of the millions the board has already slashed within the last few years.
The proposed cuts are being made to counseling, nursing, police services, central offices and elementary school music programs.
One of the most drastic cuts proposed is 781 teaching positions, which means class sizes would increase for all grade levels.
A worst case scenario budget does not account for union concessions or a possible November ballot measure.
