A man scaled the fence to the San Diego Zoo and broke into the park’s gift shop Tuesday, police said.
The man was spotted by a maintenance worker at the famous animal park in Balboa Park, who called the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) at about 1 a.m. to report the break-in.
Video shows the man browsing the merchandise inside the gift shop for about 25 minutes and at one point, taunting officers who were waiting outside the gates.
The man then puts on a panda sweatshirt, which he was still wearing when he was taken into custody by police.
The man faces burglary charges and was believed to be under the influence of drugs at the time of the break-in, police said.
No other information was available.
