San Diego Sheriff's Deputy Will Not be Charged With Domestic Assault Charges: DA

Petruzziello was booked into San Diego Central Jail in downtown San Diego but was released on $50,000 bail

A San Diego County sheriff’s deputy will not face charges after being arrested on suspicion of domestic violence at an Oceanside home.

Deputy Corey Petruzziello, 32, was due in court on Tuesday but the arraignment did not move forward because there was not enough evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Petruzziello committed domestic violence charges, the District Attorney's office said.

The Oceanside Police Department arrested Petruzziello on Feb. 8 after being called to a home in a neighborhood just off Mission Avenue and State Route 76, OPD said.

Petruzziello was booked into San Diego Central Jail in downtown San Diego but was later released on bail, the DA's office said.

The San Diego Sheriff's Department said at the time of the arrest an internal affairs investigation will be conducted into the matter.
