A large band of rain pushed through the southern portion of San Diego County early Tuesday as a powerful storm swept the region and brought the potential for snow in our mountains.

Check Forecast

Rain was expected to fall in the foothills and the mountains throughout the day although the showers should be more scattered.

On Monday, San Diego received .17” of rain, Carlsbad received .32” with Rancho Bernardo getting .59” in the first day of the storm. Julian received 1.09” of precipitation.

“The further inland you go, the amounts climb,” said NBC 7 meteorologist Jodi Kodesh.

The storm may even produce flurries as the clouds are forced up over the higher terrain.
