The theme of this year’s Friends of the Badge Luncheon 2015 is community-oriented policing.
The event, sponsored by the San Diego Police Foundation raises money to help fund much-needed police equipment, training and outreach programs.
It will showcase what police officers do and how they do it, as well as offering the opportunity to talk one-on-one with police officers.
San Diego’s police Chief Shelley Zimmerman says, “So many of our unbudgeted needs are met through this….such as our canines which are so critically important to provide the very best police services possible.”
The luncheon takes place June 17 at the San Diego Convention Center and will showcase what police officers do and how they do it, as well as offering the opportunity to talk one-on-one with police officers. Actual police vehicles, technology, tools and equipment used every day by SDPD will be on display.
