Flour & Barley
Flour & Barley, located at The Headquarters at Seaport (789 W. Harbor Dr.), specializes in brick-oven pizza. This week, the eatery has rolled out two new, baseball-themed pies inspired by MLB All-Star Week: “American League” and “National League.” The first pizza is topped with smoked pulled pork, fried onions, white cheddar sauce, red onions, and fresh sliced peaches. The National League pie features roasted corn sauce, chipotle chicken, pickled fresno, jalapeño, sliced avocado, cotija, and cilantro. The two pizzas are available July 8 through July 12. Insider tip: Patrons who attend MLB All-Star FanFest can show their ticket at Flour & Barley to get 15 percent off their tab at the restaurant. Score!
Gaslamp Tavern
Gaslamp Tavern (868 Fifth Ave.) will offer a special roster of brews for All-Star Week dubbed “Best of the West.” The lineup features beers representing each of the National League West cities. This tap list includes: Alesmith San Diego Pale Ale .394, for the hometown Padres; Golden Road El Nitro, for the Los Angeles Dodgers; 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon Wheat for the San Francisco Giants; SanTan Mr. Pineapple for the Arizona Diamondbacks; and a Dale Pale Ale for the Colorado Rockies. The “Best of the West” beers are $7 each and $18 per pitcher, and are available July 10 through July 12.
Bake Sale
Batter up! Bake Sale (815 F St.) in downtown’s East Village will whip up some sweet treats for MLB All-Star Week: hand-painted baseball cookies. The sweets are $2.50 each and available July 11 through July 15. Daily batches of these baseball cookies are limited, so step up to the plate early to snag a few. The bakery is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Rustic Root
Rustic Root (535 Fifth Ave.) plans to celebrate America’s pastime with a baseball-inspired cocktail dubbed “1845” – named after the year baseball was brought to the U.S. The cocktail is shaken and strained with Grand Marnier, orange liqueur, Fernet Branca, simple syrup and lemon juice, crowned with an orange peel for a citrus twist. Rustic Root will also offer some specialty dishes created just for MLB All-Star Week.
