Man Arrested After Jumping Fence into San Diego International Airport's Cargo Area

A man jumped a fence into the San Diego International Airport's cargo area Friday.

The man was taken into custody after the breach near the Delta Airlines cargo area at about 5:20 a.m., according to San Diego County Regional Airport Authority spokesperson Jon Graves.

The Delta cargo hold is on the south side of the airport's tarmac near North Harbor Drive.

It was unclear how the man was able to get into the airport or what happened after.

A previous version of this story misidentified the Airport Authority spokesman as Jon Heller and the Airport Authority as the Port of San Diego. NBC 7 regrets the errors.
