Chargers Fans Can't Get Enough Bolts Gear

Tickets packages to next playoff game are already sold out.

Chargers fan fever is in full swing after the team's big playoff win Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fans are coming into the team store looking for jerseys, hats and anything else. One man even bought a tie clip. Others say they were looking for some jerseys but were sold out.

But fans aren't just looking to wear their Chargers t-shirts and jerseys. Some are a looking to go to Sunday's game in Denver against the Broncos. The official travel package with the Chargers team has been arranged with round trip air fare, club level  seats and hotel.

While some people made the trip in Cincinnati and witnessed the big win, even more could be making the trip to Denver, since there are plenty of non-stop flights.

Initially there were only 100 spots for the travel package. Those have already sold out, but the official Chargers travel agency is trying to get hold of more tickets and hotels to accommodate the  growing demand.

“The second they won yesterday I knew exactly AER Travel would be working on it immediately,” said travel agent Lydia Riquelme at Cadence Travel, which is affiliated with AER. "The phones have been ringing non-stop all morning."

The Chargers have a special offer: If you put down a deposit for season tickets before Thursday at 5 p.m., you will be eligible to win round trip travel and tickets to the next playoff game in Denver.

The team hasn’t made it this far in the playoffs since 2008, and Riquelme said the fans want to see more.

“There’s going to be people on the wait list,” she said. “Just from previous packages I’ve experienced, even the fact it’s sold out, that doesn’t stop the fans. They want to go.”

Starting Thursday, fans who want to show their Chargers pride without spending an arm and a leg can donate blood at any San Diego Blood Bank center or bloodmobile and get a free Chargers Blood Drive t-shirt.

According to the blood bank, the giveaways will be available as long as the Bolts are still in the playoffs.
