More than ten years after the murder of Sergio Sprandel in a La Jolla shopping center parking lot, investigators have no suspects, no motive and no answers.
Sprandel, 22, was shot once in the head while standing in the parking lot of the La Jolla Village Square shopping center around 10 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2000.
The young man was standing near his car in the parking lot located south of Nobel Drive and west of Interstate 5.
San Diego County Crime Stoppers announced Thursday it is offering $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of suspects in the case.
Witnesses saw two men running through the parking lot from Sprandel's direction and get into a black SUV.
One was described as a white man, 6’3” in height and weighing 240 lbs with dark curly hair and a full beard according to a Crime Stoppers news release. The second was described as an Asian man, 6”1”, thin with long hair with the sides shaved.
