Ready, Aim, Fire

The San Diego Unified School District board has delayed its ban on marksmanship training.

The board decided to go ahead with the ban two weeks ago, after a long campaign waged buy students and activists who opposed rifle ranges on the campus.

Rifle ranges are part of the Junior ROTC program. The ranges will not be eliminated until the end of the year, and the air-rifle training will continue through the end of this school year. Because of the decision, students will be able to attend tournaments and competitions planned prior to the ban.
