Rashaad Penny Headlines SDSU Pro Day

Aztecs running back works out in front of nearly every NFL team

Rashaad Penny is an All-America running back and arguably the best kickoff returner in the nation. If NFL teams don’t understand how good he is by this point they’re simply never going to.

But that didn’t stop scouts from nearly every NFL team from getting one more look at Penny on Thursday afternoon.

San Diego State held its annual football pro day on Montezuma Mesa. At least 26 teams were represented to see about a dozen senior Aztecs try and earn their way into a professional training camp.

Penny decided not to participate in the bench press or the 40-yard sprint but did cone drills and ran several plays out of his running back position. Former Aztecs QB Ryan Lindley participated in the throwing portion of the workout.

Other Aztecs working out during pro day included:

S Trey Lomax
CB Kameron Kelly
TE David Wells
TE Darryl Richardson
RB Nick Bawden
RB Tyler Wormhoudt
WR Quest Truxton
WR Mikah Holder
OL Antonio Rosales

The first round of the NFL Draft takes place on Thursday, April 26. Rounds two and three go the next day and the Draft wraps up with rounds 4-7 on Saturday.
