Rain Returns

A cold, winter-like storm is making a beeline for San Diego and it looks as if it will be arriving just in time for the Monday morning commute.

Sunday was pretty cloudy and cool. Highs remained in the low 60s for most areas west of the mountains with it getting a few degrees warmer in the warmest valleys.

We're looking for a half-inch of rain or maybe a little more near the coast with increasing amounts as you head east.  We could see as much as an inch and a half on the western slopes of the mountains with some light snow possible around 6000 feet.

Showers could kick up as early as Sunday night as preliminary rain bands roll into town but the brunt of the storm isn't expected until around 5 a.m. Monday.

We'll see fairly consistent rain showers for a few hours tapering off to more scattered showers by early afternoon on Monday.

The rest of the week looks dry with highs mostly in the 60s under partly cloudy or mostly sunny skies.
