Prince Harry to Train in California

El Centro will get the royal treatment when Prince Harry arrives in October

Prince Harry — a British Army captain — will train less than two hours away from San Diego at the Naval Air Facility in El Centro, Calif. starting in early October.

He will visit two U.S. military bases in California and Arizona as part of an Apache attack helicopter course conducted by his country's Defense Ministry, said base spokeswoman Michelle Dee.

She says the same course will also take him to the Air Force Auxiliary Air Field in Gila Bend, Ariz.
The training consists of environmental training, live firing and tactical exercises.

The British Defense Ministry says the prince will join an Apache squadron. The Defense Ministry would not comment on his deployment plans, citing its policy.
