Pregnant Woman Killed by Speeding Car

Teenager was walking right in front of her own home

A pregnant woman was struck and killed by a car while walking in front of her Vista home Thursday.

According to San Diego County Sheriff's deputies, a 1968 Chevy Impala was traveling northbound on N. Santa Fe at more than 80 mph at around 10 p.m. The driver lost control as the car crossed over Bobier. The car slid sideways and crashed into a fence.

The victim, a 19-year old woman who was seven-months pregnant, was hit and killed walking along the road. She was directly in front of her home at the time. Her mother returned from work while deputies were at the scene and identified the teenager.

Deputies say there where five people in the car at the time of the accident. The driver, 21 year-old Mark Allen Davidson, was booked at the Vista Jail on a number of charges including two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter.
