Power Outages Impact Nearly 5,000 Across County

Nearly 5,000 people from the San Diego International Airport to Ramona were without power Tuesday evening, according to San Diego Gas & Electric.

SDG&E was reporting the following communities were impacted as of 11:15 p.m.:

  • Dulzura/ Potrero/ Campo – 14 Customers; Restoration by 0130
  • Borrego Springs/ Shelter Valley/ Canebrake – 2 Customers; Restoration by 0730 (WEATHER CAUSED)
  • Valley Center/ Rincon/ Pauma Valley/ Palomar Mountain/ Lake Henshaw –359 Customers; Restoration by 0600
  • Nestor/ San Ysidro/ Otay Mesa – 29 Customers; Restoration by 0030
  • Ocean Beach/ Midway/ Lindbergh Field – 82 Customers; Restoration by 0000
  • Ocean Beach/ Sunset Cliffs/ Point Loma/ Ocean Beach/ Midway/ Lindbergh Field – 804 Customers; Restoration by 0230 (FIRE CAUSED)
  • Ocean Beach/ Midway/ Lindbergh Field – 522 Customers; Restoration by 0200
  • Carlsbad/ La Costa – 182 Customers; Restoration by 0000

The outages came as San Diego saw its first rainfall in many months. Showers were scattered Tuesday and the heaviest rainfall was expected between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
