Poway Mayor Steve Vaus Announces Board of Supes Run

Poway Mayor Steve Vaus announced Wednesday that he is running for a seat on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.

Vaus would represent District 2 in the 2020 election.

“My priorities as East County’s Supervisor will be the same as my priorities as Mayor: Keeping us safe from crime and fire, maintaining infrastructure, protecting and expanding open space, allowing development where appropriate, and being accessible,” read Vaus’ campaign website.

The Poway mayor announced his run on his Facebook page with the caption, “Exciting news to share…”

Vaus was re-elected to his second term as mayor in 2018, receiving 63 percent of the votes. His first term began in 2014.
