An employee was killed in a forklift accident at a South Bay business Monday, according to officials.
The accident happened at 11:45 a.m. at Central Auto Partes on Datsun Street in Otay Mesa.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as 68-year-old Salvador Gonzalez-Rincon of Tijuana.
According to the ME, no one saw the accident happen, but the victim was found near a forklift with the engine running.
Police said the forklift ran over the employee. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Central Auto Partes is an auto dismantling business where people come to buy parts for their cars.
Other employees didn’t want to talk on camera, but told NBC 7 it’s been a tough day.
