San Diego police said they are seeking a second suspect in a child abuse case that also involves a baby sitter accused of being paid to allow child molesters access to young children.
Officers arrested Aaron Zendejas, 24, on Jan. 28. He faces several charges, including kidnapping, child molestation and child pornography. San Diego police detectives said they got a tip Zendejas, an East County baby sitter, was molesting children in his care. Detectives said they collected evidence from a cell phone and computer belonging to Zendejas.
An arrest warrant charging Jared Ravin Yaffe, 30, with child molestation was issued Tuesday. Investigators said Tuesday that they linked Yaffe to the molestation case involving Zendejas. Police said Yaffe may have also been involved in videotaping the molestation of young children.
Investigators believe Zendejas was paid to bring children to pedophiles so they could be photographed and molested.
"They uncovered items of child pornography and pictures depicting child molestation," police Lt. Rick O'Hanlon said.
Investigators said they're still trying to identify the alleged victims, who range in age from 3 to 10 years old. Police are asking anyone who may have used Zendejas as a baby sitter to call the police immediately.
Zendejas' bail has been set at $500,000.
