Former Sailor Sentenced to 30 Months

Man admitted to selling military equipment on eBay

A former sailor who sold Navy gear on eBay has been sentenced to 30 months in prison, according to the U.S. District Attorneyโ€™s office.

Phillip Jamison, 31, a former Gunner's Mate Petty First Officer stationed aboard Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, managed millions of dollarsโ€™ worth of sensitive military equipment including weapons at one time.

Judge Marilyn Huff also ordered Jamison to pay the United States Navy more than $170,000 in restitution and to serve three years of supervised release after prison release.

In April, Jamison admitted to selling items on eBay and exported some of the technology to Hong Kong without an export license from the U.S. State Department.
