A man walking his dogs in an Oceanside park was shot and killed Tuesday, police said.
Oceanside police officers responded to a call of shots fired at Melba Bishop Park just before 10 p.m.
The victim, described by police as a 49-year-old man, was located in the field area of the park.
Emergency crews provided life-saving measures, but the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Police said their initial investigation shows the victim was walking his dogs in the park and got into an argument with two people when he was shot.
The victim’s identity is being withheld until the Medical Examiner’s office notifies his family.
Police have not made any arrests.
