Peacock Pride Pinks it up for Strides Walk this Sunday

Several team members of “Peacock Pride” strutted their stuff on Streetside San Diego `this morning, in preparation for Sunday’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk.

Peacock Pride’s team goal is to raise $20,000 for the American Cancer Society, who sponsor’s the walk, in it’s 11th year.   The NBC team boasts 30 team members and 4 top fundraisers.   With four breast cancer survivors on the team, it has become a cause near and dear to the hearts of many NBC employees.

Team Captain, Joy Malaise, encouraged San Diegans to come out on Sunday morning and walk with the team.  It’s an easy 4-mile walk through Balboa Park and some 20,000 walkers are expected to participate.

The American Cancer Society hopes to raise $1 million dollars in San Diego County to fund research and programs so that we might live in a world free of breast cancer.
