Parolee Savagely Attacks 2 Women

Woman sent to hospital after vicious attack

A wild confrontation at a Chula Vista gas station landed a woman in jail Saturday, after she allegedly attacked two women and a child while they were attempting to get gas.

Felicia Speaks,31, was arrested for striking the two women with a wooden dowel and attempting to hit a 3-year-old child with the weapon as well, according to Chula Vista Police Lt. Fritz Reber. During the incident, police say Speaks also tried to steal a purse from one of the victims.

Speaks and her 3-year-old son had stopped to inflate her car's tires when the three victims stopped their car at a gas pump blocking her exit, angering her, Reber said.

Investigators said Speaks allegedly hit both women before speeding off only to return a few minutes later with a wooden dowel. Speaks began to viciously attack the women with the dowel, when Speaks turned to hit the victim's child, one of the women dove in front to protect the toddler, Reber said.

Both women were hit repeatedly, one was taken to the hospital with injuries to her head and back.

This isn't Speaks first run in with police this month Reber said, just a month ago Speaks attacked a stranger in a bank parking lot over a parking space.

Speaks is on probation after serving time for drug, assault and theft charges. She is being detained at Las Colinas Detention Facility.
