2 Hurt in Pacific Beach Hit-and-Run Crash

Two men were seriously injured in a hit-and run crash late Thursday in Pacific Beach, north of San Diego.

A four-door sedan slammed into the men who were crossing the street just after 1 a.m., San Diego Police said. Officers say a car was stopped at the intersection of Garnet Avenue and Baynard Street near the Bank of America building when another car traveled into another lane to pass. That’s when the passing car struck the two men.

The driver did not stop, police said.

The victims, described by police as a 23-year-old man and 25-year-old man were transported to a nearby hospital. One of the victims was said to have suffered a traumatic brain injury, police said.

It was not clear if surveillance video captured the collision however, the location is along a busy strip of shops, bars and businesses.

No details were given on a suspect or a vehicle.
