Officers were responding to reports of shots fired Thursday evening in Valencia Park, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).
The incident was reported at approximately 9 p.m. on the 5700 block of Olvera Avenue near Bonita Drive.
SDPD says multiple people reported hearing shots in the area. Someone also told a caller on the street that they had been shot.
Police say no victim has been found yet.
