The body of a young mother of two was found in the garage of a home in Oceanside Thursday, police confirmed.
Edith Andrea Garcia, 21, was discovered concealed under a bed in the garage, which was being used as living quarters, at a home on Leeward Court near El Camino Real.
Garcia's parents had tried to reach her by phone throughout the day, but she wasn't answering their calls. They contacted police and asked them to check on her.
When Oceanside police stopped by the home, they found Garcia with what appeared to be fatal knife wounds.
A man police described as the victim's boyfriend, 24-year-old Arturo Salazar, told the woman's parents that they had gotten into a fight and she left.
Officials say Salazar confessed to killing Garcia on Wednesday and hiding her body under the bed.
The couple and their two children β ages two and four β had been living inside the garage, police said. The children are now in the custody of Garcia's parents.

Further details about the family's living situation were not immediately released, as the investigation is ongoing.
Salazar was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on a first-degree murder charge. Investigators say he has been arrested at least one other time before this for domestic violence against Garcia.
He's scheduled to appear in court Monday.
