A man lost part of his ear in a fight over a skateboard Tuesday in Ocean Beach, San Diego Police said.
The 25-year-old man was slashed in the face just before 11 p.m. near a fire pit on Dog Beach at Long Branch Avenue and Spray Street.
Police say the victim got into a fight with the men over a skateboard that had been stolen the night before.
Officers say when the fight became physical, the three men chased the victim several blocks.
The man was thrown to the ground and slashed.
The three attackers ran away traveling eastbound on Brighton Avenue, police said.
