New Padres Affiliate Unveils Uniforms

Formerly the Portland Beavers, the Tucson Padres have a new look.

The white-jersey, white-pant home uniforms will debut Opening Night at Kino Stadium on Apr. 15. They feature a black and white memorial ribbon on the sleeve to honor the Tucson shooting victims, and their characters are in the same font as the 1978-1984 Padres uniforms.

The gray-jersey, gray-pant road uniforms will debut Apr. 8 against Colorado Springs, the first game in Tucson Padres history. They feature a black and white memorial ribbon on the sleeve to honor the Tucson shooting victims, and their characters are in the same font as the 1978-1984 Padres uniforms.

A Tucson version of the Padres mascot, the Swinging Friar, is the center, white-outlined logo on the team's navy blue caps, which are worn for both home and road games.

In partnership with the San Diego Padres, the Tucson Padres will wear camouflage military jerseys for Sunday home games and other appropriate military holidays throughout the 2011 season. They are game-worn jerseys from last season.
