Multiple agencies, including SWAT officers, responded to the scene of a rollover crash Thursday night in La Mesa involving two suspects wanted in connection to a shooting from last week.

The crash happened at approximately 7:20 p.m. on the 4400 block of Parks Avenue.

According to Ryan Kiem, Public Informations Officer of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department (SDSO), the incident began when deputies conducted a search warrant just after 7 p.m.

Kiem said, upon seeing the deputies, one suspect known the SDSO got into a car with another person and took off at a high rate of speed.

Just as he went across the street, the suspect crash the vehicle.

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident, Kiem told NBC 7.

“At the end of the day, that’s our goal is to walk away from something like this safely," he said.

There is no one outstanding from this incident.

Keim added that the suspects suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. They will be booked into jail after later Thursday night.

"When you’re able to take two suspects into custody that were possibly involved in a shooting, everyday, that’s going to make the community safer. So we’re very happy about that," Kiem said.
