MTS Arrests Vandalism Suspects

Suspect possibly responsible for damage estimated at more than $25,000

Five juveniles were recently arrested for allegedly being involved in more than 270 tagging incidents, according to Metropolitan Transit System.

The undercover security operations made the arrests during the past two weeks, when the suspects were monitored using an MTS database system called Graffiti Tracker.

The underage suspects are accused of vandalizing roughly 3,580 square feet with damage estimated at more than $25,000.

“Our message for graffiti vandals is simple -- there’s nowhere to hide” said County Supervisor Greg Cox in a statement. “We’re going to catch you, prosecute you and make you pay for the damages you’ve caused.”
