Motorcyclist Injured in Crash in Coronado

One person was taken to the hospital in a motorcycle crash in Coronado Tuesday night.

According to the Coronado Police Department, the crash, which involved a motorcycle and a Ford Explorer, occurred around 8:09 p.m. on the 200 block of Coronado Cays Boulevard.

The motorcyclist crashed into the SUV from behind and was ejected. Police said the family inside the Ford Explorere was okay.

After he was ejected, the man's motorcycle was hit again by a passing vehicle.

The motorcyclist was taken to the UCSD Hospital for unknown injuries.

Police closed down the Silver Strand southbound lanes just south of Coronado Cays Boulevard while emergency crews were on scene.

As of 8:45 p.m., the fire department had clearing the scene.
