A California Highway Patrol officer attempted to pull over a motorcyclist near Fallbrook Thursday when the rider lost control and crashed.
The crash occurred on eastbound State Route 76 near Old Highway 395 at 2:40 p.m.
CHP officials said the motorcyclist suffered major injuries.
The CHP officer was not injured.
