Mother Claims Assistant Touched Special Needs Daughter Inappropriately

The South Bay Union School District is investigating a misconduct claim made by the mother of a student with special needs at Central Elementary School in Imperial Beach.

The mother says a teacher's assistant inappropriately touched her young daughter several times. She says she reported the incident to the San Diego County Sheriffโ€™s Department and the school principal, but two weeks have gone by and she has not heard back from the district

"I'm worried about it and I'm frustrated and I'm sad because nobody wants their kids to go through this,โ€ the mother told NBC 7.

In a statement, the district said it was aware of the complaint and since they are currently investigating it they would not comment.

The sheriffโ€™s department said a report has been filed and the case is being handled by a detective in the Child Abuse Unit.
