Missing Man Found Safe

The search for a missing 45-year-old man who left the San Diego Yacht Club on Thurdsay morning and was expected to arrive in Dana Point later that night, has been called off the Coast Guard said. 

The Coast Guard started searching local marinas after recieving a report from the owner of the sailing vessel at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, saying that his friend left the yacht club on Thursday morning.

Daniel Formica and the sailing vessel Abba Jaba Dad were found safe at 12:19 p.m., Sunday.

The Coast Guard urges mariners to file a float plan with a family member, friend or marina. A float plan is a detailed description of your trip to include passenger information, vessel description, where you expect to be and when you expect to arrive at your destination.
