Meeoww! Miss Cougar California

If you're over 40 and like younger men, 2009 is a good year to be on the prowl.

Never has Cougar-dom been more fashionable.

Not only has fall TV done its part in bringing sexy back to the of-a-certain-age set (with Courtney Cox's "Cougar Town" and Jenna Elfman's "Accidentally on Purpose"), but now Cougars are getting their very own convention.

Thanks to the May/December romance purveyors at iCougarDating.com, California's Cougars will have an assembly in their honor, and the chance to compete for a crown, too. iCougarDating bills itself as "the web's hottest Cougars hang out" and matches Cougars with potential "Cubs" -- or, younger, interested men.

The first-ever Miss Cougar California competition, which will be judged by Cubs, will take place at the California Cougar Convention on November 6 at the Crowne Plaza Beverly Hills.

The convention's keynote address will be delivered by Lucia, author of "Lucia's Lessons of Love" and will enforce the definition of today's Cougar as a woman with "glowing skin, shiny hair" and classy clothes. The "over-tanned" with "too much cleavage" need not apply.
