Bomb Threat Investigated at Mar Vista HS

The sheriff's department received a call about six bombs placed on campus

A bomb threat is being investigated at Mar Vista High School in Imperial Beach, according to officials.

The sheriff's department received a call about six bombs placed on the campus located at 505 Elm St. just before 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday and students were released at the normal time.

The unknown caller also told police there was a shooter on the roof with a high-powered rifle. Authorities searched all the rooftops within a mile radius looking for the reported shooter, but were unsucessful.

Sheriff's deputies and Harbor Police officers are searching the school. The bomb/arson unit and the sheriff's department School Resource Officer also responded to the scene.

So far, police have not located any bombs and no injuries have been reported.
