Man With Shopping Cart Wanted in North Park Hammer Attack

A man hit in the head with a hammer in the heart of North Park is lucky to be alive.

The victim was near the intersection of 31st Street and University Avenue on Tuesday when a man in his 30s pushing a shopping cart struck him, according to San Diego police.

After the incident, the bleeding victim went into a nearby CVS for help. The suspect then fled on foot, investigators said.
