A man who reportedly broke into a residence near Clairemont Drive Friday afternoon has been taken into custody San Diego police confirmed.
The man had been following some women and then broke into one of their homes. A boyfriend of one of the women, who is a Sheriff's deputy, had the suspect at gunpoint, but he managed to escape.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m.
Officials believe the suspect may have been under the influence or have mental problems.
It's unclear if he was attempting to burglarize the home or just following the women.
