Man Stabbed 3 Times in Chest in East Village

A man was stabbed in the chest three times in the East Village on Sunday night, police said.

The stabbing happened around 8:50 p.m. on the 1200 block of Market Street, near the 7-Eleven, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The 39-year-old man was taken to an area hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, though a doctor told police the man was expected to survive, police said.

Police are looking for the suspect, who was described as wearing a blue shirt and black pants at the time of the attack.
