Loose Pit Bulls Bite 9-Year-old Boy

A nine-year-old boy was bitten when a group of pitbulls somehow became loose in a Logan Heights neighborhood Sunday morning, officials confirmed.

According to the San Diego Fire Department, which sent crews to the emergency, the incident happened around 7 a.m. on Franklin Avenue.

Officials said a number of calls came in from residents in the area reporting multiple pitbulls on the loose.

When crews arrived at the scene they discovered that two people had been bitten by the dogs, a nine-year-old boy and an adult male.

The victims were taken to a local hospital. Officials did not release details about the extent of the victims’ wounds.

Animal Control officials also responded. They secured the scene and took three dogs into custody, police said. They also figured out where the dogs live and who the owners are, but police did not release that information Sunday morning, as the investigation is ongoing.

Details about how the pitbulls became loose were not immediately available.
