Live Nation's Mega Shows: The 1975 and Country Megaticket

Tickets on sale this week for The 1975 and KSON's Country Megaticket

Self-described art-pop heartthrobs The 1975 announced on Monday that they’re trading in the frigid tundra of the UK for North American paradise as they headline a tour in support of their No. 1 charting sophomore album, “I Like It When You sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It.”

Cheesy, wordy album names aside, the band -- up for British Group of the Year and British Album of the Year at this year’s Brit Awards -- play Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU on April 25, and you can bet that tickets are gonna go fast.

Watch the video for their newest music video here.

The quartet starts its North American trek April 9 in Mexico City, rolling through major cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and, yes, the finest of those cities, San Diego.

If you don’t want to miss the band, who landed on just about every major music publication’s Best of 2016 list, then pay very careful attention now. Artist ticket presale for the show begins Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m., and tickets will be available to the general public beginning Friday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. Presale and general tickets can be purchased at www.the1975.com/live.

Meanwhile, a little further south, KSON’s Country Megaticket charges through Sleep Train Amphitheatre on various dates throughout the summer and fall. Here’s the deal -- one ticket will get you entrance to all six of these mega shows:

  • June 4: Lady Antebellum with Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young
  • June 23: Brad Paisley with Dustin Lynch, Chase Bryant and Lindsay Ell
  • Aug. 25: TBA
  • Sept. 9: Florida Georgia Line with Nelly and Chris Lane
  • Oct. 7: Jason Aldean with Chris Young, Kane Brown and Deejay Silver
  • Oct. 27: Luke Bryan with Brett Eldredge

For the past several years, San Diego faves like Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean have sold out Chula Vista’s premier amphitheatre, so if you love your country, be sure to get your tickets Friday, Jan. 27, at 10 a.m. Prices range from $225 to $795 (remember that’s for SIX mega shows).
