San Diego lifeguards and San Diego firefighters (SDFD) rescued a 23-year-old woman who slid down a 10 to 15-foot embankment on the Box Canyon Trail Sunday afternoon, SDFD confirmed.
The woman, who bumped her head in the fall, was stabilized by Blacks Beach lifeguards and medics. Additional resources were requested to evaluate her further, so a precautionary cliff rescue was initiated.
She was lowered to the beach using a technical rope rescue system and was evaluated by medics and released.
The incident happened around 2:42 p.m. Sunday.
