Human Skull Found at Lake Hodges

A human skull was discovered in the brush near Lake Hodges on Oct. 7, 2016. This may be the clue investigators need to solve the death of a woman whose remains were found near that same site last October.

Last October, deputies found the partial human remains of a woman, later identified as 29-year-old Marisol Lopez, about a quarter-mile south of this location.

Investigators believe the skull may be that of Lopez, but the remains will have to be positively identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office.
