A driver died after being thrown from a vehicle and another was hurt when their cars collided in La Mesa Tuesday.
The two cars crashed near the intersection of Fletcher Parkway and Jackson Drive just north of Interstate 8 at about 8:20 p.m., La Mesa Police Department (LMPD) Lt. Greg Runge said.
Officers found one person ejected from a vehicle, Runge said. The driver was declared dead at the scene.
A second driver was hurt and rushed to a local hospital with moderate injuries, the Heartland Fire Department (HFD) said.
The drivers would not be identified until family could be notified.
No one else was in either car at the time of the crash, Runge said.
LMPD was investigating how the crash happened but it did not appear that alcohol was a factor, Runge said.
