Kell's Treys Help SDSU Past Long Beach State

Aztecs Top Long Beach State 76-72

Trey Kell hit four triples and finished with a team-high 13 points to help San Diego State fend off Long Beach State 76-72.

It’s the 150th consecutive game the Aztecs have won after leading with 5 minutes to play in regulation.

Freshman guard Ben Perez contributed 10 points in the 1st half on 4-4 shooting.

The 49ers rallied midway through the 2nd half to take a 50-48 lead behind their long distance shooting. But after a back-and-forth sequence of jumpers fell for both squads, Dakari Allen hit a trey and Kell kept the Aztecs afloat with multiple long balls from way behind the arc.

The Aztecs improve to 5-3 overall while the 49ers fell to 3-4.

SDSU next plays the University of San Diego in a unique cross-town rivalry game this Sunday at 2 p.m. at Petco Park.
