San Diego got some good music news on Monday when Live Nation announced that singer/songwriter John Mayer will be turning Viejas Arena into a wonderland on Sept. 11.
Though Mayer came through Chula Vista with Dead & Company last July (oh, you didn't know he's been filling Jerry Garcia's shoes since 2015?), it's been a while -- over five years, it looks like -- since San Diego fans had the guitar-slinging heartthrob all to themselves.
Mayer's last album, "The Search for Everything," came out in 2017, so there may be some new music on the horizon for 2019, and, no doubt, he's learned a thing or two from Bob Weir and the band.
Pre-sales start Jan. 31 at 10 a.m., and tickets for the general public go online the following day at noon.
Rutger Ansley Rosenborg has been with NBC SoundDiego since 2016. Find out more here.
