2 People Hurt in 3-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 15 Near Miramar Road

Two people were hurt in a crash involving a dirt hauler truck and two other vehicles on southbound Interstate 15 in Miramar Thursday, prompting heavy traffic delays during the morning commute.

The dirt hauler could be seen at 6 a.m. perpendicular to traffic lines, blocking at least three lanes of southbound I-15 just north of Miramar Road. A red SUV and turned-around white van were nearby with visible damage.

The circumstances that led up to the crash were not clear.

CHP said two people were transported to Scripps La Jolla with unknown injuries.

A Sig Alert was issued just before 6 a.m. Three to four lanes of southbound I-15 just north of Miramar Road and the Miramar Road on-ramp were closed for about an hour as CHP officers cleared the crash.

Traffic was backed up to at least Mercy Road/Scripps Poway Parkway, CHP said.

Lanes were reopened at about 7 a.m. but commuters may still experience delays.
